Available Positions: EPWP Support – Sector Coordination, Compliance, and Data Management
The Eastern Cape Department is offering X111 EPWP Work Experience vacancies for youth who are passionate about community development, sports, arts, culture, and heritage. These roles are designed to provide valuable work experience and skill-building opportunities in local communities.
Contract Type: One (1) Year Fixed Term Stipend: R3500 per month Location: Various DSRAC service centres across the Eastern Cape
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for these vacancies, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Requirements:
- A National Senior Certificate (Matric) or NQF L4 qualification or its equivalent.
- Experience & Skills:
- Basic understanding of EPWP and its relationship with the national, provincial, and local governments.
- Strong organization, coordination skills, and stakeholder management.
- Knowledge of community, arts and culture structures, as well as library, sport, and recreation organizations.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Personal Requirements:
- Must be currently unemployed.
- Must reside within a 5km radius of a DSRAC service centre (e.g., library, museum, art centre, school, etc.).
- Age between 18 and 35.
- Must be willing to undergo training.
Key Responsibilities
As part of this role, you will:
- Support the facilitation of departmental programs at ward level.
- Collaborate with other sector departments in an integrated manner.
- Implement sports, arts, heritage, and cultural activities at the ward level, including art centres, schools, libraries, and hubs.
- Mobilize schools and youth to engage in sports, arts, culture, heritage, and recreation programs and events.
- Build and maintain relationships with local community organizations and youth groups.
