The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) Legislature Department is on the lookout for enthusiastic young talents in various fields to join their Internship Programme for 2023. About CoJ Internship Programme:

CoJ’s Internship Programme is a proactive initiative to address the increasing demand for students to gain practical experience, whether it’s a pre-requisite for academic qualifications or part of post-academic experiential training. This opportunity is specifically designed for the youth in the Johannesburg community who meet the internship criteria and have never participated in an internship programme before. The duration of this internship does not exceed 18 months.

Available Internships:

1. Multi Media & Communication Officer

• Department: Legislature
• Branch: Private Office of the Speaker
• Designation: Internship: Multi Media & Communication Officer
• Location: Metro Centre, 158 Civic Boulevard

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 Plus National Diploma (NQF LEVEL 6)/Degree (NQF LEVEL 7) OR Currently Enrolled as a student in a related field
• Enrollment confirmation letter from an institution
• Only City of Joburg residents will be considered

Primary Function:

• Managing social media platforms
• Creating engaging content
• Ensuring effective communication
• Developing communication strategies
• Capturing and editing event photos and videos
• Managing media relations

2. Citizen’s Engagement Coordinator

• Department: Legislature
• Branch: Private Office of the Speaker
• Designation: Internship: Citizen’s Engagement Coordinator
• Location: Metro Centre, 158 Civic Boulevard

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 Plus National Diploma (NQF LEVEL 6)/Degree (NQF LEVEL 7) OR Currently Enrolled as a student in a related field
• Enrollment confirmation letter from an institution
• Only City of Joburg residents will be considered

Primary Function:

• Creating and executing comprehensive community engagement strategies
• Collaborating with municipal departments
• Providing administrative support
• Handling documentation
• Promoting community participation

3. Administration Officer

• Department: Legislature
• Branch: Private Office of the Speaker
• Designation: Internship: Administration Officer
• Location: Metro Centre, 158 Civic Boulevard

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 Plus National Diploma (NQF LEVEL 6)/Degree OR Currently Enrolled as a student in a related field
• Enrollment confirmation letter from an institution
• Only City of Joburg residents will be considered

Primary Function:

• Providing administrative support
• Organizing meetings
• Handling documentation
• Managing departmental logistics
• Engaging citizens to understand their challenges
• Assessing the impact of CoJ Legislature programs and initiatives
