The Export Credit Insurance Corporation of South Africa SOC Limited (ECIC), a key player in promoting economic growth and development in South Africa, is offering exciting Graduate Trainee Programs for young professionals to gain valuable experience in ICT and Finance. These internships are designed to provide graduates with hands-on experience in a corporate setting while contributing to ECIC’s mission of supporting the country’s export sector.

Graduate Trainee: ICT

Location: Centurion, ZA – Hybrid (Remote and In-Person)

Contract Type: Internship

As an ICT Graduate Trainee, you will play a vital role in supporting ECIC’s IT infrastructure, assisting with desktop and network support to ensure the smooth operation of systems across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all IT-supported systems, applications, and services.
  • Administer and support approximately 90 end users, including hardware setup, software installation, and network troubleshooting.
  • Ensure proper backups of critical data and maintain virus control procedures.
  • Assist with the administration of email and internet facilities, along with hardware inventory management.
  • Provide weekly reports on incidents and problems, and assist in ICT projects.
  • Offer basic end-user training to ensure efficient system usage.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Diploma in IT or MCSE (or equivalent) with A+ and N+certifications.
  • ITIL foundation certificate is preferred but not essential.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid technical understanding of supporting workstations and networks in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Knowledge of network architecture (OSI models, protocols).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Graduate Trainee: Finance

Location: Centurion, ZA – Remote (any location)

Contract Type: Internship

As a Finance Graduate Trainee, you will work closely with ECIC’s Finance Unit, gaining insight into financial management, reporting, and budgeting. You will play an essential role in supporting the team with key financial processes and the preparation of important reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Processing: Process invoices, payments, cashbooks, and journals.
  • Report Compilation: Assist in preparing monthly reconciliations, cash projections, and quarterly reports.
  • Support the preparation of annual financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Help update and improve finance processes to ensure efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • BCom degree in Accounting.
  • No prior work experience required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and handle conflicting priorities.
  • Strong teamwork skills and flexibility in working extended hours if needed.
