Kumba Iron Ore, a unit of Anglo American, invites South African learners to submit applications for the Bursary Programme 2024.

ABOUT THE BURSARY

The bursary contract period will be dependent on the candidates’ year of study. The bursary is a comprehensive bursary that will cover all costs associated with formal studies including tuition fees, book fees, accommodation, and paid vacation workThe bursar will be required to attend vacation work as per the Institution’s requirements. All vacation work will take place in the Northern Cape. The candidate has to enter into a Bursary Loan Agreement with the Company. Appointment into the graduate programme after successful completion of studies cannot be guaranteed and post graduate placement will be managed based on the Company’s needs and the bursars’ performance.

FIELDS OF STUDY COVERED

The Bursary Programme 2024 is available for 1st, 2nd & 3rd year students studying the following fields:

• Chemical Engineering Geology Mine Surveying Civil Engineering Geo-Tech Mining Engineering Corporate Affairs Human Resources Management Occupational Hygiene Data Analytics Industrial Engineering Occupational Medicine Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Projects (SIB) Environmental Metallurgical Engineering Safety Management Finance

BURSARY REQUIREMENTSCore Requirements

• Proof of registration from the institution for the qualification in the relevantfield of study Provisional acceptance from a universityAcademic resultsStrong preference to students who originate from the Northern Cape
• Strong preference will be given to differently abled candidates

Optional Requirements

• Driver’s Licence: Code B (Light vehicle) must be obtained during the bursary period Operational experience in the mining industry during vacation work periods
