Salary: R183,279 per annum (Level 04)
Centre: Various districts in KwaZulu-Natal
Key Responsibilities:
As a Driver/Messenger, you will be responsible for:
- Driving Duties: Operating light and medium motor vehicles to transport passengers and deliver items as required.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on the allocated vehicle, reporting defects, and ensuring the vehicle remains in good working condition.
- Record Keeping: Completing the required logbooks and records concerning vehicle usage and the items being transported.
- Clerical and Messenger Support: Providing routine office support, such as performing registry functions, making photocopies, and assisting with general office tasks.
Requirements:
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience:
- Education: A Grade 10 qualification.
- Experience: 7–12 months of relevant experience in driving and messenger duties.
- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license (essential).
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
- Knowledge of Vehicle Operations: Understanding the procedures to operate and maintain a motor vehicle, including trip authorities, logbooks, and basic vehicle services (e.g., fixing a flat tire).
- Vehicle Utilization: Familiarity with the correct usage and storage requirements of the motor vehicle.
- Messenger Functions: Knowledge of standard office procedures, including registry functions and clerical support.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to work well with others.
