Requirements

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Education:
   • Possession of a Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NQF Level 4).
2. Certifications:
   • Registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA).
   • Hold a minimum of a Grade C security certificate.
3. Legal Compliance:
   • Must not be declared unfit to possess a firearm.
4. Advantageous Qualifications:
   • A Diploma/Degree in security-related fields.
   • Relevant courses in the security field.
   • A valid driver’s license for at least a light motor vehicle.
5. Other Requirements:
   • Willingness to work shifts and extended hours.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will perform the following duties:

• Access Control: Manage access to premises and vehicles, ensuring compliance with the Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act (Act No. 53 of 1985).
• Visitor Management: Identify visitors, issue control cards, and maintain registers.
• Security Monitoring: Inspect vehicles, equipment, and personnel to ensure premises’ safety.
• Supervision: Oversee cleaners and maintenance personnel from a security perspective.
• Equipment Checks: Inspect and maintain security equipment, reporting any deficiencies to senior personnel.
• Shift Work: Be prepared to work irregular hours, including shifts.
