SABT Engineering Apprenticeship Programme 2025 – Apply Now!

South African Bulk Terminals (SABT) is inviting unemployed youth to apply for the Apprenticeship Programme 2025 as part of their Skills Development Strategy. This exciting opportunity is available for the following trades:

  • Diesel Mechanic (X2)
  • Electrician (X2)
  • Mechanical Fitter (X2)

Minimum Requirements:

To be eligible for the SABT Apprenticeship Programme, applicants must:

  1. Have completed a certificate with relevant trade theory (N2).
  2. Possess good communication skills (English – written & oral).
  3. Be unemployed and not currently enrolled in any other learnership, apprenticeship, or work experience programme.
  4. Have a technical interest and enthusiasm to become an artisan.
  5. Previous work experience is advantageous.
  6. Be able to travel to the training centre and workplace (both in Durban) for the entire 36-month programme duration.
  7. Be willing to undergo an assessment process.
  8. Be physically fit and willing to undergo a pre-employment medical examination.
  9. Be a team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  10. Be a South African youth (under the age of 35).
  11. Be a South African citizen with a valid ID.

  • Fully completed and signed application form (Download here)
  • Letter of Motivation for the Apprenticeship Programme.
  • Curriculum Vitae (max. 3 pages).
  • Certified copy of theory certificate and other qualifications (if any).
  • Certified copy of identity document.
  • Certified proof of Durban residential address.
  • Signed affidavit confirming unemployment status and non-participation in any other work-based learning programme.
