Job Description

The Moses Kotane Research Institute (MKRI) seeks 42 motivated and detail-oriented Research Data Collectors for a short-term project. This is an excellent opportunity to gain research experience while contributing to valuable data collection initiatives in your community.

Responsibilities

• Assist with door-to-door data collection following prescribed procedures.
• Collect data using surveys, personal, and telephonic interviews.
• Capture data in an MKRI-prescribed format.
• Maintain data quality standards to ensure the integrity of collected data.
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards throughout the data collection process.

Requirements

• Must be an unemployed KZN graduate between the ages of 18 – 35 years.
• Must have a valid tertiary qualification (NQF level 6 to 8). An NQF level 8 qualification is an added advantage.
• Computer literacy.
• Own mobile device (working smartphone) with the ability to operate it effectively.
• Good communication skills.
• Proficiency in English and IsiZulu.
• Code 08/10 driver’s license (older than three years) and ability to drive independently.

Terms of Appointment

• Fixed-term contract limited to the duration of the project (estimated at 2 to 5 days fieldwork).
• Remuneration: R350 per day.
• No accommodation provided, so appointments are limited to KZN residents belonging to the municipalities where data will be collected.
